Catalogue of Romanian Perfins
Carpet Cancellations
Romanian documents were sometimes cancelled with perforated dies, and these are sometimes mistaken for ‘Perfins’, especially when partial strikes are seen on stamps removed from there documents. They are found mainly on fiscal stamps used to frank documents but are also found on postal issues. They should really be known as ‘Carpet Cancellations’, and take many forms.

Hole Punches
A single hole punch is sometimes found on postal issues, and these are usually filing holes causes when a postcard is perforated to be added to a filing system Other more complex shaped punches are also found. These are simple cancelling punches but sometimes are applied unintentionally to stamps |
