XXII  Competition of 14 December 1911

In 1911 a competition was announced for a new stamp issue, consisting of 14 stamps ( 1, 1 1/2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50 Bani, 1 Leu, 2 Lei and 3 Lei). The designs should represent King Carol I in different times of his life, the harbour of Constanta, the Cernavoda bridge, the Royal Palace of Sinai and the Postal Building of Bucharest. The stamps should carry the inscription 1912. The reason for the issue was that it was 35 years since Dobrogea became part of Romania. The designs presented - more than 50 - was shown to the public in the Bucharest Postal Building. All printed on fine, glaced paper.
